Pieter Exter, Metabolic and Sanne Pelgrom, Livework studio will host a webinar ‘Accelerating the shift to circular’. 

As we are all experiencing the effects of the coronavirus epidemic we are starting to see the impact it has on short and mid term business. Additionally, the environmental crisis that impacts our mid and long term business didn’t fix itself. The silver lining in all of this might be that due to both crises  the urgency to adapt is peaking. These times require reconfiguring of the value propositions to your customers. Organisations that manage to do so in a sustainable way will thrive.

We will present and discuss circularity from a design and environmental perspective. We will focus on opportunities & challenges in the product – and customer lifecycle, and debate organisational barriers and enablers for change to happen. 

We believe that design can play a major role in accelerating this shift, but in order to do so it has to step up and reframe its role. We have to move from designing for individual needs to designing for the collective; from designing for short term profit to designing for the long term triple bottom line; from ‘can we make it’ to ‘should we make it’ and ‘can the ecosystem sustain it’. That is why Livework and Metabolic are teaming up.
